It's not difficult. It's not rocket science and you're not expected to develop a working theory of faster-than-light travel with three peer-reviewed publications prior to leaving your front door! Just follow a few simple "Do's and Don'ts". Unsure what they are? Maybe we can help;
DO
- Take your litter home
- Be respectful of access for residents
- Clean up your dog mess - wherever you are
- Cyclists give way to walkers and horses on bridleways
- Exercise common sense
- If you intend to swim, remember the water will be cold
- If you spot a fire, call 999 without delay.
- Keep to group numbers as advised
- Keep to paths across farmland
- Keep your dog on a lead around livestock
- Know where you are allowed to go
- Leave no trace of your visit
- Plan ahead
- Protect wildlife, plants and trees
- Slow down for horses and walkers
- Stay on footpaths
- Use gates and stiles - leave them as you find them
- Use the edge of fields if there is no path
- Wash your hands when you get home
DON'T
- Don't block access with reckless parking - think emergency and farm vehicles
- Don't climb over walls and fence's
- Don't disrespect livestock - cows can kill you
- Don't expect all public amenities to be open
- Don't expect plenty of parking
- Don't expect to be the only one visiting
- Don't leave disposable BBQs around
- Don't swim in open water
